Vicky and Tony's sweet ceremony and Salvatore's reception were full of incredible DIY touches and the beautiful love of a newfound family.
Vicky, on how she knew Tony was her perfect person...
"I knew he was the one after I saw him interact with his kids.  He's the most loving person and father and he always thinks the best of people. Always."
Vicky knew right away that she didn't want a traditional white or ivory dress, but had no trouble finding the gown of her dreams. "As soon as I saw the blush dress, I knew it was the one," she told us.
The couple had no doubts that they wanted to get married in Chicago, a city that's always had an influence on their lives- Tony is a Southside Chicago native and a Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department, and Vicky has lived all over the city. "I'm in love with the energy of the city," she told us. "Especially the lakefront!"

"We really lucked out with the coolest day of the summer," Vicky told us. "Our church didn't have air conditioning, so we were rejoicing that it was only 70 degrees..."
"...but it made for some chilly photos on the lake!"
Vicky and Tony, on why they chose Salvatore's Ristorante for their reception...
"We knew we were going to have the wedding in the city and we wanted the feel of a restaurant.  As soon as we stepped into Salvatore's, we knew it was the place.  The vibe was old school and the atmosphere felt familiar. We knew it would be cozy, but that the drinks would flow and  the dancing would be non-stop. And that's exactly what happened!"
Vicky and Tony, on DIY and choosing their color palette...
"We decided our colors would be gold, blush, and ivory," the couple said. "We were very DIY when it came to decorations.  Tony painted almost everything- we were so proud when we walked into the reception and saw how beautiful it looked!"
When asked to pick a favorite memory from the day, Vicky just couldn't narrow it down to one. "All of us girls got ready together, and it was so nice to bond with Tony's daughters," Vicky said. "I wanted them to know that they were so important in the day as well!"  Her favorite memory from the ceremony? "The first person I saw at the church was Tony's son, Alex," she continued. "He looked so handsome! I got teary eyed just imagining the rest of the day to come."
And finally, the highlight of the reception: "The matron of honor speeches were just hilarious and embarrassing," she laughed. "And my dad's speech brought everyone in the room together."
All in all, the couple wholeheartedly feels that they had an absolutely perfect wedding day. "We kept expecting something to go wrong, but it never did," the couple gushed. "Everything was just amazing!"
The night didn't just end with the spectacular reception though- Tony had a surprise waiting for Vicky. "He gave me a second, beautiful wedding band," Vicky said. "It was his wedding gift to me. I was shocked!"
