Real Wedding: Christina Ferrigni and Joseph McMahon

Check out this Real Wedding from our magazine!

As her Rolls Royce drove up to Old St. Patrick’s Church, Christina was thrilled. “Everything just kind of soaked in right before I walked down the aisle. It was magical,” said the bride, remembering the moment just before her traditional Catholic wedding ceremony.

After a beautiful service, Christina Ferrigni and Joe McMahon were escorted out of the church by a member of the Shannon Rovers Irish Bagpipe Band. Guests greeted the newlyweds with a gorgeous butterfly release.

Draped in shades of purple and platinum, the Oak Brook Hills Resort provided a lovely cocktail hour complete with Italian delicacies, custom martinis and an amazing jazz trio. Guests were then ushered into the grand ballroom of the resort for the reception, where floral arrangements and luxurious tablescapes awaited them with candlelit ambiance. Christina described, “When they announced us, the whole bagpipe crew walked us in. It led right into our first dance.” She went on to express her delight at seeing the ballroom decorated so perfectly.

“Food is important to both our families,” Christina said, as she described the elaborate six-course meal. The other crowning culinary experience was a 48-foot long sweets table created by Oak Mill Bakery, complete with Italian and French pastries, and bronze custom coffee stations. Guests delighted in the tunes of the Dan Hayes Orchestra throughout the evening, and the party went on late into the night, fueled by music from DJ Roberto Monastero and delicious Chicago Style hotdogs. “It went by so fast,” said the bride. “The whole day was a wonderful, magical experience for us. We felt a lot of love.”
