We're not either.
The couple met on the set of their film, "The Last Song" in 2009. Couldn't tell you what it's about, just that it's a Nicholas Sparks book, so grab your tissues. Cyrus, 20, and Hemsworth, 23, decided that the end of that movie was not their last song, and after an on-again-off-again relationship, they announced their engagement in May of 2012.
During the engagement, there were many rumors and speculation about a possible breakup, as both stars turned toward their own careers.
"'I'm not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work. Every week it's, "Are they broken up? Because we don't see a photo of them,"' she said earlier this year. 'I don't have time go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't'" (ABC News).
As the tension grew in the last few months, Miley responded to the questions on Good Morning America in June, saying, "I'm wearing a ring, so..." Still, just a few months later the couple finally called it quits.
So, why the sudden change? Apparently Miley
twerked tweaked out at Liam.
But he's not the only one to blame. Miley may have taken things a bit too far (understatement). "Following Miley's raunchy 'We Can’t Stop' number at the VMAs on Aug. 25, rumors circulated that Liam wanted out of the relationship" (Life&Style). Apparently, Hemsworth was "nowhere in sight during [or] after Cyrus' controversial twerk-fest" (NY Daily). We get it, we wouldn't want to be associated with that particular event either.
But here's the worst of all: Cyrus unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter. Gasp!
Whatever, we're just glad he's back on the market.
